Ella Macgregor Obituary

We intimate with sorrow the death of Ella Macgregor a longstanding member of the Society.

Ella Graham Macgregor was born at Wester Meikle Pinkerton on 31st August 1933 and died at Easter Meikle Pinkerton on 2nd June 2022.

She and her siblings, Ina and Tom bought the two farms and the Brunt from APCM. They bought Broxmouth from Sir John Kennedy in 1970 and lived there until 1975.

Ella established Pinkerton stud in 1976. This was to prove a very successful venture with horses like Kayem which Mark Todd took to the Olympics at Atlanta in 1996.

Ella had Bridge Pall covered by the Queen’s stallion, Royal Applause in 2014. She recently bought two horses with which Wills Oakden has had successes.

Her funeral on the 21st June was conducted by the Rev Canon P Allen in Dunbar Parish Church. She was interred at Pinkerton.
