East Lothian Antiquarian society made an expedition by coach to Blairadam on Saturday 10th July. Blairadam near Kelty is the family home of the Adam family.It was built in 1736 by William Adam father of John,James and Robert and was their country home.It was a great privilege to be welcomed into this family home, which had been in visited in his day by Walter Scott and other distinguished members of his Edinburgh circle.
Keith and Elizabeth Adam spoke about the history of the house and the family and showed a rich variety of items of interest.
