Talk on Papple Steading Project 13th May

Zoom talk by George Mackintosh on the Papple Steading project

The Society is delighted that Member George Mackintosh is to give a Zoom talk on his Papple Steading project: 7.15 for 7.30 PM, Thursday 13th May ‘21.

Born in Inverness, George was brought up on a farm which has clearly influenced his passion for conservation and restoration – particularly in relation to agricultural heritage.

George, a University of Edinburgh graduate, is an extremely successful serial entrepreneur, partnering or founding a number of technology businesses in the UK, Hong Kong and the USA.

To pursue his conservation and restoration enthusiasm he acquired Papple Steading in 2017 and has since energetically set about renovating the buildings, restoring them to their 19th century magnificence. Papple is considered one of Scotland’s finest examples of the Improvement Movement’s model farms.

George will give an illustrated talk on the size, shape and intended purposes of Papple Steading paying particular attention to the buildings and the agricultural heritage centre within.
