Fountainhall

On the 19th July they visited Fountainhall Pencaitland by invitation of Mr and Mrs Robert Cowe. They greatly enjoyed visiting this delightful unspoiled 17thcentury mansion, partly built by John Pringle c1640. It later became the country home of the Lauders of Newington who renamed it. It has been the home of the Cowe family since 1956.

Blairadam

East Lothian Antiquarian society made an expedition by coach to Blairadam on Saturday 10th July. Blairadam near Kelty is the family home of the Adam family.It was built in 1736 by William Adam father of John,James and Robert and was their country home.It was a great privilege to be welcomed into this family home, which had been in visited in his day by Walter Scott and other distinguished members of his Edinburgh circle.
